Where to stay on Siesta Key in short
Siesta Key is a long, narrow island, and its lodging falls into three areas. Siesta Key Village sits in the north around Ocean Boulevard and Canal Road, a short walk from Siesta Key Beach. Crescent Beach and South Village lie farther south near the Stickney Point Road bridge. Turtle Beach is at the far south end.
This page compares areas, not individual properties. Whatever you choose, ask where the nearest beach access is and whether parking comes with the room. If you plan to book a trip on the water, see our guide to Siesta Key boat tours before you pick a base.

Siesta Key hotels by area
What each part of the island offers and what to keep in mind.
| Area | Where | Nearby | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Siesta Key Village | Ocean Boulevard and Canal Road, north end | Restaurants, shops and a short walk to Siesta Key Beach | Being close is a location trait, not a promise of quiet or a parking space |
| Crescent Beach and South Village | Near the Stickney Point Road bridge and Crescent Beach access 12 | Shops, a marina and rental shops | Check which beach access the property actually uses |
| Turtle Beach | South end of the island | A county campground and the island trolley | No lifeguarded swimming area; not every place to stay is on the sand |
| Sarasota mainland | Bayfront and downtown, across the bridges | Museums, the bayfront and city dining | The island trolley no longer runs downtown, so there is no free direct ride to the beach from every hotel |
For most first-time beach visitors, the Village is the easiest base: restaurants and Siesta Key Beach are within a short walk. Pick Crescent Beach and South Village if the marina and rental shops matter more, and Turtle Beach if you want the south end or a campsite.
Our pick: a downtown Sarasota loop
Our take: if you are weighing a base on the mainland, this trolley loop shows you downtown and St. Armands Circle from a seat.

How to choose a hotel on Siesta Key
Four questions to ask before you book.

Getting to Siesta Key โWhich beach access?
Ask how far the nearest public access is and which one it is. Siesta Key Beach has the main car park, while Crescent Beach is reached through numbered accesses.
Siesta Key Beach โIs parking included?
The main car park at Siesta Key Beach is free from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., but overnight parking on county beach car parks is not allowed. Ask whether your lodging has its own parking.
What fits the season?
Summer is hot and wet, winter is milder and drier, and hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November. Read the cancellation terms before you pay.
Siesta Key weather โSiesta Key rentals and lodging tax
Why the final price is higher than the advertised rate.
Many visitors rent a condo or house instead of a hotel room. Sarasota County charges a 6 percent tourist development tax on rentals of up to 6 months, plus 7 percent sales tax. Together that is 13 percent on the same taxable amount, before any fees from the booking provider.
The taxable amount is not only the nightly rate. It includes cleaning fees, extra bed fees, pet fees, utility fees and damage insurance when it is part of the rent. So do not apply the 13 percent to a low headline price alone. Compare the full total at checkout, and check the minimum stay for the rental you want.
Camping at Turtle Beach
The county campground at 8862 Midnight Pass Road has 39 tent and RV sites. Each site takes up to 6 people and has electricity, water and sewer. Pets are not allowed, except service animals, and campfires are not allowed.
Sites can be reserved exactly one year ahead. Check the current nightly rate, tax and payment fee when you book. Campground rules differ from beach rules: sleeping in a car in a beach car park is not allowed. See our page on Crescent Beach and Turtle Beach for the beach itself.
